Blowing off steam with some friends from Chem340 after our midterm.
I found this easy-peasy fire-breathing stunt on the “CrazyRussianHacker” Youtube channel, which is a GREAT resource for home science experiments. This was my first attempt at cornstarch firebreathing, which is fairly safe since compacted cornstarch is not that flammable, but will readily combust when dispersed (and far enough away from your face).
But yeah, I should be wearing goggles. Next time.
In case you want to try this at home, take the obvious safety precautions. Do it outdoors. Don’t stand next to anything flammable such as a house, your friends, a gas station. Don’t inhale the cornstarch.
